HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Looking for a reason to have the whole family clinging for dear life hugging on the living room sofa? Try love scaring them! Halloween is the best holiday ever. Until Christmas rolls back around. So until then, here is a running list of scary movies for Halloween, that the whole family can enjoy.

Arachnaphobia
This is the movie responsible for my fear of spiders. To this day I turn into a little girl at the sight of even a teeny tiny spider. That aside, this movie is a fun, thrill ride that preys solely on the fear of something little crawling all over you. There is no serial killer. Just whatever baggage you bring with you.

I always forget how much I enjoy John Goodman until I see him on screen. On the special features of the movie they show how the spider wranglers were able to control and direct the spiders in each scene, mostly with luck and blasts of air. There is no CGI here. Just real spiders. Eeaackk.12 and up.

Ghostbusters
Who you gonna call? Skinny Dan Ackroyd! How can you not love the best comedy involving Tobin’s Spirit Guide? As a kid, it was the Shhhhh-ing Librarian that got me every time. Now, it’s the one-liners that keep me coming back for more.

Ghostbusters could very well be the movie that prepared mainstream audiences for movies like Shaun of the Dead and Tucker and Dale VS Evil. It perfectly mixes the scares with the humor. After you get the good jump scare, Bill Murray is waiting to disarm you with his girlfriend, so what if she’s a dog? People say that Caddyshack is Bill Murray’s most quoted movie, but that’s only if you’re over 40. Us cool, younger generation know how awesome actual physical contact is.
